Cliffs of Moher

The Cliffs of Moher stretch for 5 miles along the Atlantic coastline of County Clare. The west of Ireland is a particularly beautiful part of the country and the coastline is a stand out tourist attraction. On a clear day visitors can gaze out across the water to the Aran Islands and Galway Bay and even if the weather is misty the atmosphere of the place is magical.

Exploring the Cliffs of Moher
Set out along the Atlantic Drive and visit the Cliffs of Moher. Choosing what to do may depend on the weather and how busy the area is remember this is one of Ireland's most popular places to visit. The cliffs themselves can be best seen from one of the viewing platforms. The main platform looks south towards Hag's Head. The North Platform is the highest, 700 feet above the ocean, from here you can walk to Doolin.

The South Platform is the perfect place to spot those parrots of the sea – Puffins. There are also many other species of seabird and wildlife around the cliffs so packing binoculars is advisable. There is a well set up visitor centre and essentially a café providing sustenance and an indoor view of the spectacular cliffs.
